Wired vs Wireless

Comparing today's wireless audio technology to the wired ones

Sales & Trends

Wireless headphone sales have tripled just in the last 2 years and the trend is expected to continue. Although, wireless audio technology has always been inferior to its wired counterpart and the progress in the field has also almost stagnated over the past years.

Latency

Wired audio is widely used around the world in almost all professional settings and has a relatively low latency of < 10ms. Wireless audio, on the other hand has a latency of more than 10 times its wired counterparts.

Pro Audio

Pro-audio setups are still hooked on wired technology. That costs them $1.5 billion every year in wiring alone, around 20-30% of the overall sound budget.

Current Techniques

In current technology, for any dropped signal at the receiver, the receiver has to go back to the transmitter. And this back and forth slows down the communication and brings these drops to notice.

At SoundRex, we have developed algorithms using cutting-edge machine learning and human auditory models, which regenerate these dropped signals at the receiver itself. The regeneration happens in real-time and is impeccable to the degree, where even artists are unable to distinguish.
